# About the Hackathon "Youth for Climate!"

This event will take place on **26–27 October 2026** in **Brussels**, thanks to our partnership with the European Economic and Social Committee. It is funded through the Erasmus+ programme.

The Hackathon will bring together approximately **45 young participants** aged 18–30 from **France**, Spain, Denmark and Hungary, accompanied by 11 facilitators, experts and panelists. The working language of the event will be **English**.

This event is designed as a **space for dialogue, learning and co-creation**. Throughout the two days, participants will engage with European experts, civil society representatives and public decision-makers working on climate and environmental issues.

The main outcome of the event will be the drafting of a **Youth Manifesto for Climate**, bringing together **concrete proposals developed by participants**. After the event, these proposals will be refined and incorporated into a European advocacy campaign led by the project consortium, with the final manifesto being shared with national and European decision-makers.

More broadly, the Hackathon seeks to **empower young people** from diverse backgrounds to engage more actively in civic and democratic life and to give them the confidence to make their voices heard on one of the defining challenges of their generation: **climate change**.

{% hint style="info" %}
The training is open to **members of Surfrider, JE- France and MTVSZ**. Some spots are also open to external participants. No prerequisite course is required to register, only your motivation and inspiration§

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://jeuneseuropeens.gitbook.io/apply-hackathon-generaction/about-the-hackathon-youth-for-climate.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
